ABOUT ME
I'm a Certified Holistic Nutritionist, Health Coach, and Personal Trainer, with six years of experience in the industry!
In that time I've worked with hundreds of clients, showing them how to reach their general health and fitness goals, overcome severe chronic health issues, and get out of pain so they can live a full life. I don't want to use this page just to talk about my experience and credentials though, I'd rather take you on a little journey to better understand why I got into this field in the first place.
My health journey started at a young age as I always struggled with digestive issues and felt somewhat "off". That feeling only intensified as I got into high school, and decided to pursue a career in professional ballet (can you say stress galore). That high stress atmoshpere, and the need to have the perfect ballerina body, led to an eating disorder that I battled with throughout all of high school and into my early 20's. What do you get when you combine strenuous exercise, long hours on your feet, and chronicallly underfueling? A downward health spiral.
From there I developped a cascade of symptoms and health issues that took over my life. My digestive system shut down and I suffered from severe bloating and stomach pain, adrenal fatigue, hormonal imbalances (completely lost my cycle for two years), skin issues, brain fog, disordered eating, and a very long list of food sensitivities. I was miserable to say the least, and I had no way out at the time. This led me into the world of holistic health, spending a few years in and out of doctors offices trying to find answers, but instead leaving with pieces of a puzzle I couldn't connect.
During this time, I also had to leave dancing behind due to irreversible injuries and structural issues from all of the stress over the years. Unwilling to accept that this was just going to be my life, I threw myself into research and went through schooling to become a holistic practioner and personal trainer. It took me a few years, many setbacks, and a lot of trial and error, but slowly I started to find my health again through the wholeness approach that I mentioned.
I had finally realized that it wasn't just about diet changes, exercising, or taking supplements. I had to address the mindsets that got me into this mess in the first place, and learn to rebuild my relationship with myself, food, and fitness. I had to redefine what healthy looked like for me, and unlearn everything I thought I knew from the mainstream media and trends. Fast forward to now and I've reversed every issue that I struggled with. I'm fully symptom free, and feel the best I have in my entire life! Now I get to use my experiences to help others do the same, without all of the struggle and guessing games.
